VGP – Viet Nam has become the second biggest garment exporter to the Republic of Korea (RoK) and accounted for more than one fourth of the Northeastern Asian garment imports.
According to the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association, Viet Nam’s garment exports to the RoK rose 8.25% to over US$627.4 million in the first four months this year.
However, the majority of the exports come from RoK-funded companies, the association said.
Viet Nam and the RoK officially signed a free trade agreement in May this year, under which Vietnamese garment exports satisfying origin requirements enjoy zero tariff since January 1, 2015./.
